My family stopped for the night in Dunsmuir and stumbled across this restaurant downtown. I know good Mexican food, being from Texas and living in the Bay Area, and this place was off the charts! My 6 year old who is normally a very picky eater said it was the best burrito he's ever had. My 9 year old who hates chicken ate her entire chicken burrito with a huge smile.
My wife and I had the fajitas and they were sizzling and delicious. Her favorite thing however was the fresh, homemade corn tortillas.
Lastly the service matches the food, great server who knew just when to check in on us. Also didn't have to wait long for our order. Making a plan to stop back by on the way home! -

The best Mexican in South Siskiyou County in our opinion. The prices are a bit high, but the food is, for the most part, solid. My partner is a chili verde snob and orders it wherever he goes. 8 of out 10 times, the chili verde is a hit, but sometimes it just doesn't taste like it has stewed enough.
When you arrive, you get a big basket of chips and some salsa which are both quite good. They also refill it if you ask (and sometimes they'll offer). The waitstaff are generally on top of things, but there were a few occasions that you are waiting a long time for your food (and feel like you've been forgotten).
I have ordered the enchiladas, tamales, fajitas -- so I've tried many dishes. I would have to say the enchiladas are my favorite and a solid 4 in my book.
So, if you find yourself in South Siskiyou County looking for decent Mexican, La Perla is your best bet. -

This place is bomb. The tortilla soup is the best one I've ever had. The Camarones a La Diabla was amazing and the tortillas are home made. Being from the Bay Area, this place is legit and everything tastes amazing. Highly recommend.

Dunsmuir is a great middle meeting spot for us and friends from Yreka. We decided to try La Perla and it was an excellent decision. The steak fajita plate was enough for two, but so good I practically licked my plate! Get the corn tortillas. They're homemade magic. My husband raved about the al pastor tacos. We definitely want to return here on our next double date!

Visiting from the Bay Area aka #foodieland. We came to Dunsmuir to see the local waterfall and afterwards had lunch at La Perla. This place is a MUST! Authentic Mexican food ; 100% delicious! Outstanding service. Compliments to the cooks, you are doing an awesome job!
